Buddy Update - We received a GREAT update from Buddy’s mom (along with pictures). We are SO happy for Buddy. Here is update from Buddy’s mom:

Hi Darlene. Buddy has made so much progress! Today he met about twenty new people. Each was like a long, lost friend. All different ages. We are trying to teach him how to swim. He is pretty cautious but willing to go in the water. He is so happy and the gentlest giant.

He is off leash at the cottage and his recall is getting better every day. The Bud has been such a wonderful addition to our family. Hope you got the video and enjoy the pictures.

Another one that spent his whole life in a crate and now look at him....so many doggy friends and people friends. What a lucky boy!

Bentley Update - We received a great update from Bentley (aka Caleb) mom. As you can see, he is settling in nicely and it is so nice to see he is a true member of the family ... right in the thick of things LOL.

Bentley (Caleb) is doing so well, and he's very happy, as are we!! He's settled into our family as if he was always here. I've attached a few pictures for you. Love him so very much!!! He has his 1st vet checkup today.

He's eating well, gets head rubs from our cat, and sleeping comfortably each night in his large bed in our room.

He's affectionate and loves to play. I'm teaching him to speak. He's very intelligent. Well, enjoy the pics ... A few from our family bbq yesterday. Take care, Lynn

We love seeing these updates – thank you for sending Lynn!

Help Needed with Foster/Forever - Meet our two new furbabies. There bios are below and I know that you are going to love to share or foster them.

This sweet girl was found stray and is looking for a foster home so she can get to her forever life. She is behaving well with other dogs and with the children in her finders home. She is guessed to be between 3 - 5 years old. She had a few accidents in the first couple days but is now going to the door and asking to go out. To foster this girl (and get the chance to name her).

If you would be able to foster Zoey, please fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at anmlresq@hotmail.com. In comments section, please mention that you want to foster terrier mix girl.

And here is Zoey has been abandoned and is looking for a foster home! She is 6 months old, good with other dogs, chases cats.

No food aggression but being skinny and hungry she will need to learn that is it ok and she will have another meal. No need to gulp her full bowl.

If you would be able to foster Zoey, please fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at anmlresq@hotmail.com.

Casey Update - We received some great pictures of the smallest of the 5 pocket Rotts we pulled last February. These poor dogs were living together in a cage about 6 feet by 8 feet and had very little contact with humans. Their food was tossed over the fence and water was poured in from the outside so it is no wonder they were very, very frightened when they finally came into the “real world”. Little Casey was the smallest of them all and in comparison to his big sister, he looks like a little midget! Here is an update from Casey’s mom, Lorie – thanks for the pics and update Lorie!

Hi Renee: Here is some pics of the kids sorry the pics aren't clearer, newer camera and of course I haven;t figured out settings yet. Casey is doing great. He is doing so well with not freaking out with cars and trucks going by.

blog071716.jpg (103383 bytes)blog071716a.jpg (102956 bytes)

He used to lay down and try and hide every time something drove by while we were walking. He is still my little tasmanian devil and sometimes Carmie hides from him too. lol

Casey looks innocent but don't let that fool you. He really is a loveable sweetheart along with big sister Carmie.

Jack Update - ANML-RESQ is thrilled to announce that our boy Jack has been adopted. He is actually on a foster to adopt basis until he finishes his meds for lyme disease and gets a retest. Once we get the word that he is free and clear he will be officially adopted. Here is a little from Jack’s foster mom Allie who has been keeping in close touch with Jack’s new family.

blog071316.jpg (374482 bytes)blog071316a.jpg (386291 bytes)

He met the neighbours rescue puppy and was great, he played in the field behind their home on a 30ft lunge line and always stayed very close by, he had his pic taken with his new Mom and Dad. His human sister is at sleep over camp at the cottage for the week. They wanted Jack to have time to settle in and get to know his home while she is there and he will be going up to the cottage with them on Saturday to meet his sister. He got new toys today and is now playing with them in the fenced in yard :)

His new family love him already. Congratulations Jack and family!

Foster/Forever - We are in urgent need of a foster or forever home for Caleb. Sadly through no fault of his own he must find a new forever family. Here is Caleb...

Foster or forever home needed for Caleb. Meet Caleb, a 3 year old Cane Corso. Due to a change in family circumstances, Caleb is looking for a new forever home. Caleb is good with small dogs but not with larger breeds. Possibly a large breed female would work with a slow introduction. He has not been exposed to cats so to be safe we recommend a home without cats.

Caleb is a big mushball who loves to be with people. He has a very calm disposition. Caleb is up to date on vaccines and neutered. Caleb can be a drooler at times so his new family should be aware and not turned off by it.

We are looking for a large breed experienced home with a fenced in backyard.
If you think Caleb is the boy for you, please fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at anmlresq@hotmail.com

Remy Update - Wow...another amazing update from Remy’s mom. It looks to me like Remy is very proud of himself as he should be.  From Kelly:

Evidence of his success – only one blunder as we got back to the canoe loading area Tuesday evening Remy thought perhaps he could walk on water – success may have gone to his head. Indeed, he cannot.

Swimming lessons are for sure essential. I jerry-rigged a human lifejacket – my oversight packing. Another Georgian Bay / Killarney lover / camping / canoe buddy! YES!

This boy is definitely making up for all the years he spent living in a crate – thanks his his amazing mom Kelly!

Meet Moose - Moose is a senior, male Rottweiler who is neutered, microchipped and up to date with vaccines. He is healthy and has no current health issues. Moose is a lovely boy that soaks up all the attention he can get from his human. Moose likes to cuddle up on his bed with his toys and nap after a nice long walk! Moose is very good on leash, no pulling and can hang out, off leash, if in a safe environment.

moose4.jpg (702756 bytes)

Moose has free roam in his foster home and is not destructive. Food items need to be safely stored. He is a happy boy, greeting visitors and will give you the rotti lean in exchange for a few scratches on his neck. He is quiet and only barks when someone comes to the door but settles nicely.

moose2.jpg (124258 bytes)moose3.jpg (161544 bytes)

Moose would benefit from additional socialization and obedience training to help him to bond to his new people. We believe that Moose would flourish in a home where he is the only dog. Although he is currently in foster care sharing his home with dogs, cats and children, all living harmoniously, he chooses his human and prefers their attention over that of another furry companion. Moose is friendly with most other dogs but needs slow introductions.

moose1.jpg (64375 bytes)

Moose is a 98lb, big mushy ball of love, a gentle giant who is looking for his forever home to share in his golden years.

If Moose is the guy for you, please fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at anmlresq@hotmail.com

Home Needed - You may remember Chloe and Ava, the 2 labby girls we have found wonderful forever homes for ... well Roxi was also a casualty of changing circumstances. Because she came to us severely overweight and we wanted to have her completed vet checked to make sure there was nothing going on that would cause the weight gain. But knowing all 3 were free fed and owner away for 13-14 hrs a day there was nothing else to do but eat.

roxi1.jpg (91301 bytes)

roxi2.jpg (72900 bytes)roxi3.jpg (75650 bytes)

Roxi came thru everything with flying colours, other than a few bad teeth her bloodwork all came back fine – woohoo! Since being in foster care she has already lost 15 lbs. and continues to lose weight thanks to her loving foster family Cathy and Larry. She also resides with the families two resident females and they all get along well.

If you are looking for a calm, laid back girl who asks for nothing more than a loving family and a place to lay by your feet, please contact us at ANML-RESQ.
