Meet Keeper - This young fellow has been very patiently waiting at the shelter until we could find a foster home for Keeper.

He is a total sweetheart and we cannot wait for more pictures and updates but for now ... this little cutie is FINALLY in a home and no doubt soaking in all the love he can get. Stay tuned for more about Keeper.

HUGE thanks to Corrina and family for welcoming Keeper into their hearts and home!  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nixon Update - We are thrilled to say we were able to help Nixon before he ended up at the shelter. Although he had to be put into a boarding kennel ... he is at least safe and not in any danger.

Our girl Carolina who is already smitten with Nixon is going to visit with him daily at the kennel. Here is a first day update from Carolina:

I went to hang out with Nixon today for almost 2 hours. At first he was still a bit unsure and had his tail tucked. I got him out of the kennel and took him for a long walk around the boarding facility/farmers fields and he slowly became more and more comfortable. By the end he was running around (on a long leash) prancing around, playing in the puddles, holding the leash in his mouth, and jumping around like a little puppy. He would take treats, let me pet him and at the end of our walk I was sitting with him and he was sitting so close to me, to get treats, that his chest was touching my knee.

When I put him back in the kennel, poor boy started to bark...he didn't want to get left behind (I think) ~Carolina

He has been through so many changes already and our biggest hope for Nixon now is to find him a loving foster home.

Val Update - We received some awesome pictures of our beautiful girl Belle (aka Val). Belle is living a wonderful life being Stephanie’s one and only. I love her little furry friends.

Hi Renee, Thanks for your note! We are doing great, thank you. Belle has no problems with the snow, although I wouldn't say she actively rolls around in it.

We are still trying to figure out her take on playing with other dogs but she has a great dog walker so we're easing into it. I've attached some pics. I just love my "little girl."

We could not be more pleased for Belle and her loving, doting mom, Stephanie.

Sadie Update - We are absolutely thrilled to tell you that Sadie has had her spay and cherry eye surgery. We had a huge scare when the people at Good Bones updated after her surgery. Her foster family noticed in the evening that she returned home that she was really not herself and felt something was just not right. Thank God they followed their instincts. It seems a few of Sadie’s internal spay stitches came apart and she was bleeding internally. They rushed her to the emergency vet for immediate care and the VERY caring vet that did her initial surgeries went out in the middle of the night to pick her up and take care of her. Now that is a truly caring vet!

It was touch and go for a couple of days and we were all so worried about her but knew she was in the best of hands. Thankfully she has fully recovered and look how beautiful she is!!! No more cherry-eye.

Sweet Sadie is resting with her two favourite things. Her foster mom's lap and her dinosaur blanket. We cannot thank the kind people at Good Bones Rescue for all the good work they do and for keeping us posted about Sadie. She will soon be ready for adoption.

We would like to thank foster family Monique, Walter, Valerie and Rilee for welcoming Trixie into their hearts and home. Stay tuned for updates. Welcome Trixie!

He also had a chance to meet another extended family member, an energetic female who Dakota had a blast playing with. We think he will settle in quite well. We have no doubt he will be much loved and he has lots of furry friends to keep him company.

Congratulations Dakota, Karen and Family!

Sadie Update - Well, it looks like our little prohibited girl is getting a good feel of her new home province. How many dogs are lucky enough to romp on the beach? Here is a little about Sadie from her rescue:

Sadie is doing great! Shecis with an experinced couple who are used to big ,strong dogs. She is never alone and goes to work with the husband to his office where she is a hit with everyone .

She is very high energy and really reactss to dogs but once spay and fully recovered, we will condition her to a gentle leader and naybe a muzzle to safely resocialize her at first with good dogs known to us and move on from there.

This little girl has got the BEST start at her new life with a good rescue and an amazing foster family.

Layla Update - We received a GREAT update and pictures from our gal Carla who was able to go visit Little Layla and her new family. If you recall, Layla went out east as she is considered “prohibited” in the Province of Ontario. It is such a shame that all of these wonderful dogs have to leave )-:

BUT, when we get pictures and updates like this we can rest assured that where we send them, they are very much loved. Here is a little update from Carla about her visit (-:

Wow wow amazing happy loving dogs. Layla sooo lucky. Pics don't do justice to these gorgeous happy lucky dogs. So glad I finally had my visit

Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...

When I went in i was told where I could sit at table lol pics don't tell their beauty. He's a bright blue color and he looks dark in pics. She's real dainty and delicate. BUT soooo well behaved. Not like my nut house!

Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...

LOL...I was wondering if Layla and Kimbo actually get to sit at the diningroom table when they eat their meals (-: They seem quite comfortable in their chairs (-:

Thanks so much for the update and visit Carla! It made our day.

Meet Diesel - Meet our newest and dearest Diesel and he needs our help. Diesel was found straying (several times) but this time his owners did not return for him. Diesel is a 1 1/2 year old male rottweiler boy.

He is absolutely stunning but as often happens, has had no time spent on him. He is a rambunctious, energetic boy who needs a foster/home that is willing to give him the exercise and training he truly needs to become a great ambassador.

Diesel has a few female friends at the shelter that he likes to play with. When he arrived at the shelter he was not neutered and didn’t do well with males but that could change with proper introductions to a calm, confident male...otherwise a female companion is preferable. He is too much energy for a small dog and we believe cats will also be a no-no.

Diesel has shown no food or toy aggression. He is not had any issues meeting strangers and he is clean in his kennel.

Diesel is a very energetic boy who can be very bouncy and excited meeting people so no children under the age of 12.

If you have a nice fenced in yard and have experience with the rottweiler breed (or large breed) ... and think Diesel is the right fit for you, please fill out the on-line adoption/foster application on the left. If you have any questions, please email us at anmlresq@hotmail.com
