Mickey Update: We received some pictures and a little update from Mickey's mom, Beth. He couldn't be vaccinated when the other pups were as he was running a fever and had pnemonia, but he has recovered nicely and went to the vet last week and got a clean bill of health and his vaccines. Here is a note from mom, Beth.

Mickey Chilling with his big sis' and his big sis' is not a big dog.

The picture really shows how small he is, the vet called him a dwarf :)

Great update ... send more pictures...

Lucy Update: We received some nice pictures of the only female rottweiler puppy of the 4 Rottie pups and mom that we rescued.

As you can see - little Lucy is a tiny little package compared to her black and tan brother and sister, Oliver and Jazzy. All the puppies have such endearing qualities ... Lucy's is she sometimes makes these funny faces, wrinkles her nose and shows her teeth like she is smiling (-:

Her big brother and sister adore her and so does her mom and dad. Thanks for sharing pictures of your precious girl Lucy and her beautiful brother and sister.

URGENT - ROUBLARD: We are in urgent need for a foster/forever home for a wonderful male rottweiler in need. Here is a little about Roublard along with some video of this smart, energetic boy.

Roublard is a lovely 4 year old male Rottweiler. He weighs in at 30.2kg. This sweet boy is great with other dogs, no aggression towards food or people. Cats unknown. He is a friendly goofy boy with lots of energy so a foster or forever home that can give him the physical and mental exercise he requires is a must. He LOVES his tennis balls.

This is great for training because he is very smart (already knows some basic commands) and he will work hard to earn his chance to fetch. Keeping in mind his high ball, at this time he would not be a good candidate for a dog park, on the off chance someone throws a ball.

However once he is in a stable environment (possibly with a furry friend) and has a chance to settle in and get rid of his pent up energy, this can be tested. At this time we do not know if he will guard a ball from another dog.

Roublard loves to help clean up after meal time. It's one of his endearing little quirks. If you leave that delicious roast beef out on the counter after serving it and sitting down to eat it'll be history! No need for zip lock containers, Roublard has got you covered ;)

Roublard is URGENTLY looking for a Rotti experienced foster or forever home. If you think that's you, please fill out our foster/adoption application on the left.

Kingston and Nellie Update: I hope you remember 2 of our rescues this past summer - Kingston the Rottweiler and Nellie the Douge de Bordeaux who needed our help. We were fortunate to find foster homes for both dogs, so neither would be left behind.

I got these pictures and short update about Ton as he is affectionately called. Looks like he is not only interested in driving around in a golf cart, but he is into mud wrestling too! (-: Check out the mug on that boy ... it looks like he is happy as a clam!

Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...

Here is the story from mom, Sharon ... So Dave sent me these yesterday. Ton was out in the rain and when Dave called him he came running back from the back of the pond completely soaken wet and covered in mud from head to tail with a huge smile on his face. I still owe you some better pics but couldn't resist to forward these.

Both foster homes have fallen in love and these 2 furkids will not need to look further - they are home.

Check out Bo: I would like to draw your attention to this stunning young Rottweiler boy who is looking for a foster or forever home. He is an active boy with lots of energy and we know that we can find the perfect home for Bo. Here is a little about our Bo.

Meet Bo, a goofy 1 year old Rottweiler boy who is looking for an active, large breed experienced home.

Bo is a typical young dog that needs an owner to give him positive direction to harness in his puppy excitement. Bo would benefit from an active home going for frequent walks, off-leash runs in a safe place, mind-stimulating games like hide-and-seek with treats, and play-time to let out his excitement and energy as he thoroughly enjoys being outdoors. A home with another dog and a fenced yard would be perfect for Bo to have a play-mate and we bet it would be an entertaining sight to watch Bo happily play with another dog for hours.

Bo is a smart boy with great potential to learn so much more. He is crate trained, knows the hand signals for sit and stay and other than putting anything he finds on the floor in his mouth which he would need to be taught the “leave it” trick. Bo is not a door dasher either, he knows to wait for his invitation, which is perfect to ensure he stays safely inside the house every time the door opens. Bo walks amazing on leash and even knows to wait at all corners before crossing the road, what a smart cookie! Bo has a gift of understanding more complex commands too. Bo is fully housetrained and only barks when warranted. Since Bo is such an exuberant boy, he needs to be taught to keep all 4 paws on the ground when excited and when meeting new people. In the right home this can be easily taught with patience, consistency, and a lot of praise.

When it is time for his bed time he mostly goes on his own to his blanket and lays down. He loves to have a massage before he goes to sleep and he sleeps for about 8 hours without a peep. Bo's favourite snack is carrots. He prefers them over dog cookies. He also loves most vegetables so long as they are crunchy including broccoli stems, carrots and watermelon.

If you or someone you know, that has large breed experience and are interested in Bo, please have them visit our website and fill in our on-line application on the left.

Sir Humphrey Update: We have found that many of our happily adopted are very loved and spoiled by their doting families.

Our wee fellow Sir Humphrey is a prime example of that. His doting dad decided to surprise his wee man with his very own chariot since Sir Humphrey has often decided to stop in his tracks and his dad would need to pick him up and carry on with their walk. I see our Regal Weiner has the Ferrari of chariots awaiting him for his daily walk amongst his kingdom.

Thanks to Lee Ann and Kit for sharing! We love to see our adopted treated like Kings and Queens (-:

Kit’s been shopping again for his little boy and as you can see tiny Sir Humphrey is STILL enjoying the life of privilege. Pretty soon his wee feet won’t ever touch the ground again. LOL!

Rotti Rescue Update: It has been a while since we have updated you on our Rottie family. All are doing very, very well. All the puppies went into foster care within a couple days of their arrival into rescue and one by one, we received emails from the foster homes....all with basically the same message "don't bother looking for their forever homes - they are already here". Within days of having these precious little black and tans in their lives, these adorable rotties managed to capture the heart of each and every single foster family and their resident dogs.

Mom, Keisha went to her foster to adopt home yesterday and they are thrilled to have her. She spent a very peaceful night asleep and not a peep until the morning. She has also been very clean in the house. All of her puppies have also mastered house-training and are becoming more and more comfortable with typical noises in a home as well as discovering the big new world around them.

We could not be happier for this wonderful little family of rottweilers. It was probably the biggest "one-time" rescue in ANML-RESQ's history and also the one of the fastest adoptions of this many dogs before they even hit the website for adoption. A family of rottweilers who were soon to be homeless have all found their forever families ....and all it took was one day of getting to know these amazing dogs and the rest of their lives have been secured in happy and loving homes.

Thank you again to everyone who made this miracle possible for this deserving little family of black and tans. We look forward to many, many updates and pictures. Congratulations, Keisha, Lucy, Dexter, Casey and Mickey.

Here's Ernie: Meet the newest addition to the ANML-RESQ adoptables. Ernie is 9 weeks old, a Bearded Collie mix, and a little rascal.

He loves to pull on the bottom of your pant legs in true Collie fashion and loves to herd even at this tender age. He knows the words: no, sit, and chew toy.

Ernie can be quite a handful if given the chance; but if kept occupied, he loves to play with his chew toys and a plastic 4 cup measuring cup which keeps him occupied for hours. He is crate trained, potty trained, and in the process of learning basic commands like sit, and leash training. He loves adventure, going outside and chasing cats [but not harming them].

If you would like to be herded and enjoy the love of a quick study like Ernie, please fill out the adoption/foster application on left. If you have any questions, please email them to anmlresq@hotmail.com.

Meet Abby: Abbey is a four year old female American Bulldog Boxer cross. She is a beautiful girl. She is a small dog for her breed, but all muscle at 90lbs. She is fixed, has all her shots and went to dog school as a puppy. She is a crate trained dog, and her crate must go with her to her new family.

She is great with older children (our older daughter plays, walks and sleeps with Abbey) and larger dogs. She loves to bound and chase at the dog park with dogs her size or bigger, but because of her size and exuberance she unintentionally 'runs over' smaller dogs and smaller children when playing. She has never lived with cats.

She has never been aggressive or snapped. When she meets very tall men, she does get nervous. You can tell she is nervous because she snorts and tries to hide in her crate or behind family members. Big suck with a big bark.

Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...

She loves attention. Often leans against family members or sits on our feet to get scratched or brushed. Doesn’t beg at meals but will pester for any leftovers. She listens well to certain commands, even in a noisy excited environment: get your bed, get your crate, off, sit, stay and whistles.

She is very much a 'dog' and is not subtle. She slobbers when playing, sheds, poops like a horse and snores. When both mom and dad are at work she will eat shoes or her dog bed if she can't find her toys. She has never damaged furniture. She plays with enthusiasm. Can pull excitedly at the beginning of walks. And her tail whips about at shins and table tops when happy.

We recently had a baby. Abbey has been very gentle and kind to him, but we don't think Abbey will do well when our baby starts to crawl. Plus Abbey isn't getting the attention she deserves since our new arrival.

Please contact us at anmlresq@hotmail.com for more information or fill out the on-line Adoption/Foster application on the left.

Pup Update: We received some great pictures of two of our beautiful rottweiler pups. I cannot get over how beautiful this entire family is ... all pocket rotts, oh so beautiful!

This is our little boy Mickey (short for Mickey Mouse) (-: Mickey we found, had pneumonia when he arrived for his vet visit. He had a bit of a fever and was put on a round of antibiotics. Foster mom Beth says he is a wonderful little guy.

He has fit in nicely with her clan, and Brandi (another beautiful rottweiler) adores him. Rockford and Hudson, not so much LOL ... I am sure Mickey will grow on them. As we know - all things are new to these puppies, but for the most part they are settling in nicely to living in a home - all the noises, TV's, vacuum cleaners. Mickey, I hear has a peculiar habit. It has been raining the last couple of nights at their home and the rain hitting the skylights in the bedroom seem to get Mickey barking!!! I guess the family have had a couple of nights without much sleep.

But the family adore him and are very much enjoying showing this little guy the ropes. He has met the chickens and turkeys and is okie dokie with everything (-:

We also got some great pictures of our little boy Casey ... probably the smallest of the male pups. However, he looks even smaller beside his big sis, Carmie ... an English Mastiff/Dane mix. Casey can actually run right underneath her when he wants to take the shortcut! lol.

Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...Click to enlarge...

Carmie loves her little brother though. They often snuggle up together. I am sure when Lorie finally gets two of them out and about together, they will definitely be getting some looks!
